Getting started

From any app — the fast way

1. Open a photo, a video or a PDF in any app.
2. Tap Share.
3. Pick Pico in the row of apps.
4. Choose a tool, set the options, tap Start.

From the app itself

Open Pico, pick a tool from the list, then choose a file from Photos or Files.

From Shortcuts and Siri

All five tools are exposed as App Intents, so you can use them inside your own shortcuts and automations.

Frequently asked

Pico does not appear in the Share menu

iOS hides extensions it has not seen used yet. Scroll the row of apps to the very end, tap More, then enable Pico. You can also drag it to the front so it always shows first.

Where do my files go?

Nowhere. Every file is processed on your device. Pico has no account, no server and no networking code — it is physically unable to send your files anywhere. See the privacy policy.

My compressed video is still bigger than I hoped

Pick a lower target quality: 480p is the smallest. Very short clips also carry a fixed container overhead, so the percentage saved looks smaller on them than on a long video.

Does removing metadata reduce the image quality?

No. Metadata is stripped without re-encoding the image, so the pixels are untouched. EXIF, GPS location, camera model and XMP data are removed; the orientation is preserved so the photo still displays the right way up.

Does it work on iPad?

Yes. Pico is a universal app and runs on iPhone and iPad, iOS/iPadOS 18 or later.

Is there a subscription?

No. Pico is a single purchase. No subscription, no ads, no locked tier, no watermark.
